The active rehabilitation therapy concept is a treatement protocol whereby patients are safely positioned and stabilized in a functional weight-bearing position. Utilizing the Active Theraputic Movement ( ATM) belt system a temporary external force is created that simultaneously repositions and stabilizes the body areas. Previously painful movements become become pain-free. Resisted exercises are then performed, thereby resetting the central nervous system muscle activation patterns ... allowing an immediate and significant reduction in pain and restoring function for a majority of musculoskeletal disorders. Over the course of several Active Theraputic Movement sessions, muscular firing patterns are normalized and proper muscle activation and strength are restored.
The Active Theraputic Movement treatment enables the patient to improve range of motion, flexibility and strength by optimizing the muscle activation patterns. As a weight bearing treatment, the ATM treatment provides new methods for the stabilization of injured ligaments, tendons and muscle tissue through the process of neuromuscular re-education. Patient's respond more consistently when treated in a upright weight-bearing and functional position. The AMT treatment protocal is ideal for resistance training of injuries related to the neck, shoulder, back pelvis and hip regions.
